It didn’t take long for Bryan Battle to find a new fighting home.
Last year, ‘The Ultimate Fighter 29’ winner was one of the brightest prospects in the UFC, riding a four-fight win streak in the welterweight division.
Battle likely would have been ranked if it weren’t for a weight miss in his last fight against Randy Brown, which caused him to move up to the middleweight division where he didn’t have any more luck making weight.
Battle was released from the UFC following back-to-back weight misses, the latter seeing his fight with Nursulton Ruziboev cancelled at UFC 319.
The 30-year-old recently got back on track in a short-notice booking against MMA fighter Derik Freitas (3-9) at Dirty Boxing 3. Battle won the mismatch by TKO inside of a minute.
Exactly a week after his victory, Battle has a new contract signed for a different promotion.

PFL signs Bryan Battle
On Friday, the Professional Fighters League (PFL) announced they had signed Battle to a multi-fight deal.
“Ya know what I’m saying?” the promotion said of Battle’s signing.
A welterweight for the majority of his UFC career, Battle will be competing in the PFL’s middleweight division, joining the likes of Johnny Eblen, Fabian Edwards, and Costello van Steenis.
Battle won ‘The Ultimate Fighter 29’ tournament at 185 lbs in 2021. Battle is 7-1 at the weight class overall.
While there is some concern about whether he’ll make weight in PFL, it’s worth noting Battle made the middleweight limit for his fight at Dirty Boxing 3 last week. This was Battle’s second weight cut in 2-3 weeks.
Did Losene Keita get released from UFC after his weight miss and fight cancellation?
On Friday, former OKTAGON two-division champion Losene Keita stepped onto the scales at 149 lbs, three pounds over the featherweight limit.
Keita was supposed to make his UFC debut against Bellator ‘GOAT’ Patricio Pitbull at UFC Paris on Saturday, but after his weight miss, the UFC ended up cancelling the bout altogether.
Bryan Battle was released from UFC following back-to-back weight misses in two divisions, one of those leading to a fight cancellation.
There are rumors circulating around that Keita has been cut by the promotion, as he is in a similar situation with Christopher Ewert, who was fired for missing weight in his scheduled debut at UFC 317.
However, as of this writing, there is no official confirmation that Keita has been released from the UFC.
