Logan Paul and Conor McGregor’s ongoing discussions about a potential boxing match are more direct than most were led to believe.
UFC superstar Conor McGregor nearly broke the internet just weeks ago when he announced he was in ‘preliminary agreements’ to face Logan Paul in a boxing match later this year in India. While nothing has been formally booked nor announced, as of this writing, the two parties seem equally interested in making the fight come to fruition.
Rumors went wild about the fight, revealing a potential $500 million total purse to make the bout happen. UFC CEO Dana White, who would have to give McGregor the go-ahead to box Paul, shut down speculation earlier this week.
But that hasn’t stopped McGregor and Paul from fueling the flames of speculation. It was also rumored that McGregor was in active talks with Logan’s brother, Jake Paul, in a dueling fight negotiation, but nothing has yet to materialize.
Amidst the chaos surrounding McGregor vs. Paul, Paul assured fans that the fight talks are serious, as he leaked a recent phone call with McGregor in which the former two-division champion seems locked in on signing the dotted line.

Paul leaked a recent phone call with McGregor to his YouTube channel.
“This fight can and will happen, my man, for real. This can and will happen,” McGregor said in a call with Paul.
In a recent Vlog uploaded to his YouTube channel, Paul responded to McGregor’s callout.
“It would be something I’d step away from WWE for, for a second, to go do,” Paul said. “I think he’s trying to pressure [UFC CEO Dana White] into making it happen, because he’s owned by the UFC. He can’t f***ing s*** let alone fight without them knowing.”
Paul initially appeared to pour cold water on the McGregor fight as he recently proclaimed he’s fully dedicated to advancing his professional wrestling career with WWE. But the itch to compete in boxing is still inside Paul, who hasn’t fought since a disqualification win over Dillon Danis in 2023.
McGregor is targeting a UFC comeback by year’s end, according to White, after he was supposed to headline UFC 303 last June against Michael Chandler. Chandler remains the likeliest opponent for McGregor’s UFC return.
Logan Paul vs. Conor McGregor speculation hits a new chapter after leaked call
McGregor hasn’t fought in MMA since shattering his leg against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. His lone professional boxing fight came against Boxing Hall of Famer Floyd Mayweather Jr. in their infamous ‘money fight’ in 2017, in which he lost by TKO.
Paul is 1-1 in his professional boxing career with a split decision loss to fellow influencer KSI. He and McGregor share a common opponent after Paul fought Mayweather in an exhibition boxing match that went the full distance in 2021.
Adding to the ongoing fight talks was White’s recent tease of a ‘major announcement’ in 2025, in which he recently expanded regards a fight that he’s working on securing for later this year. While some speculated it had to do with the McGregor vs. Paul fight, White has since dismissed those rumors but didn’t expand on who is involved in his in-the-works booking.
In the meantime, the McGregor vs. Paul fight talks appear legitimate, but the two sides would have to put their current contracts aside to make it happen. Regardless, McGregor and Paul could be on a collision course soon.
