Jamahal Hill claims ‘not one’ fan of 1,000 accepted his $20,000 offer to spar after Alex Pereira KO

Jamahal Hill drew radio silence from his haters after offering $20,000 to back up their words with actions after a knockout loss to Alex Pereira.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill is on a vengeance tour ahead of his return to the Octagon at UFC 311. Hill will face another former titleholder, Jiří Procházka, on the main card in a pivotal matchup in the light heavyweight title picture.

This is Hill’s first fight since a knockout loss to Alex Pereira at UFC 300 last April. Immediately after the knockout defeat, online trolls swarmed Hill on his various platforms, leading Hill to issue an open invitation to spar.

After offering $20,000 to anyone who would pull up to spar with him at the UFC Performance Institute, Hill didn’t end up paying anyone after his trolls declined the offer with deafening silence.

Jamahal Hill updates on $20k sparring offer

On an ESPN MMA Instagram post recapping Hill’s open invitation, Hill updated fans and pundits on his $20,000 proposal.

“7 months later and 1000 wolf tickets and not one pull up move along!!!” Hill commented.

Hill is in a feisty mood ahead of his UFC 311 return. He nearly got into an all-out brawl with Pereira during a recent UFC PI run-in and is fired up to return to the win column in his upcoming fight.

Hill isn’t the first former or current UFC star to openly invite his detractors to spar. Former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland, who returns to the Octagon next month at UFC 312, has sparred with numerous online trolls at Xtreme Couture.

Unfortunately, unlike Strickland, Hill hasn’t gotten to challenge his trolls face-to-face, although the positive is he’s saving $20,000.

Jamahal Hill is fired up ahead of UFC 311 return

Hill is looking to get back on track after the Pereira loss, in a main event booking he took on relatively short notice at UFC 300. Before the knockout defeat, Hill won the then-vacant belt by outpointing Glover Teixeira at UFC 283.

An Achilles injury forced Hill to vacate the belt again in 2023, leading to Pereira winning the vacant belt over Prochazka at UFC 295. Pereira remains the UFC light heavyweight titleholder after making a strong case for ‘Fighter of the Year’ in 2024.

At his best, Hill is one of the most dangerous strikers in the UFC today, as evidenced by finishes over the likes of Johnny Walker and Thiago Santos. He won four consecutive fights before the Pereira loss.

Hill could potentially get a willing sparring partner ahead of UFC 311, but it seems unlikely it’ll happen anytime soon. In the meantime, Hill will get the chance to send a strong message to his detractors with a signature performance later this month.
