FC Barcelona have been dealt a fresh setback as midfielder Dani Olmo has been taken off in the first half in their UEFA Champions League fixture against PSG.
The 28-year-old attacking midfielder started the game at Parc des Princes ahead of fellow Spaniard Fermin Lopez, in the process making his 100th appearance for the Blaugrana.
However, what was a landmark outing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup winner came to a premature end as he was hooked off in the 27th minute due to an injury.
Olmo was hurt during a collision with PSG mainstay Vitinha in midfield, following which he hit the ground and was unable to carry on.

After a brief examination from the Catalans’ medical staff, it was decided to take Olmo off, with Fermin replacing him on the pitch.
While the nature and the severity of the said injury is unclear at this point, Barcelona will be hoping that the issue, which appeared to be a muscular problem, is nothing major, especially with El Clasico against Real Madrid coming up on Sunday.
The Blaugrana already lost Eric Garcia and Jules Kounde to injuries last weekend while Rodri is also not at 100%, leading to him being benched against PSG tonight.
Meanwhile, PSG also had a key player subbed off as Ousmane Dembele had to be taken off with a hamstring issue quite early in the match.
