Ferran Torres is inching ever so closer to leaving Barcelona this summer, with the Spanish World Cup hero set to become a PSG player next season.
Ferran has been linked with a move to PSG for weeks and it appears the move could soon be finalised, just in time so that he doesn’t have to report to training at Barcelona.
Ferran’s future is a key puzzle for Barcelona as his exit could pave the way for other signings, including Rodri.
Ferran move imminent
A recent report from Cadena SER has offered a fresh update on Ferran Torres’ future, confirming that his move to PSG is now imminent.
The forward has received the green light from Hansi Flick to miss training on Wednesday. That opens the door for Barcelona and PSG to finalise the agreement.
The report adds that a deal could be finalised in the coming hours, after which Ferran will be ready to move to the French capital.
Ferran skipping training this Wednesday will also help him avoid the possibility of a last-minute injury that may derail the move, especially given the recent case of Roony Bardghji.
Details of the deal and what it could mean
PSG are expected to agree to a deal worth €55 million to sign Ferran Torres, from which €50 million could come in the form of an upfront payment while the additional €5 million to be paid through bonuses.
This could be a welcome economic boost for Barcelona, even though the club won’t be thrilled to lose a player like Ferran, having already offlloaded Robert Lewandowski earlier in the summer.
The Ferran move should pave the way for Barcelona to make an improved bid for top midfield target Rodri.
More importantly, it may help them improve their position in the Julian Alvarez pursuit as well, although Atletico Madrid have still shown no desire to offload their star player to a direct rival.
