After a brief period of doubt, FC Barcelona are back to their winning ways, having secured a run of five victories across all competitions, allowing them to open up a lead at the top in La Liga and keep their hopes of a top-eight finish in the Champions League alive.
However, their recent 2-0 victory over Osasuna at the Spotify Camp Nou in the league came with some controversy over a disallowed goal for the visitors.
With the scoreline at 1-0, in the 85th minute, Jorge Herrando seemed to have equalised for Osasuna, diverting the ball into the net from a free-kick.
But the referee decided to disallow it as Barcelona’s Joan Garcia was tripped by Alejandro Catena, who had fallen onto the ground and into the goalkeeper’s path.
Osasuna president not pleased
After Osasuna manager Alessio Lisci aired his grievances over his team’s goal being disallowed, now the club president, Luis Sabalza, has shared his opinion on the controversial moment.

“What we have to do is express our disagreement with these refereeing decisions, but we are not going to report them either,” said Sabalza, as quoted by SPORT.
Not stopping there, the Osasuna chief added: “The truth is that we have been harmed. I am not saying that they should benefit us, but they should not harm us.”
Osasuna did not make things easy for Barcelona on Saturday, with their low block frustrating the champions for a long time.
It was only in the 70th minute that the Catalans made their breakthrough with Raphinha finding the net.
The Brazilian made it 2-0 for the Blaugrana a minute after Osasuna’s disallowed goal, which would have served to rub salt into their wounds, in the process securing the three points for his team.
