After his recent blockbuster fight against Mike Tyson, Jake Paul expressed his desire for a cruiserweight title fight against Canelo Alvarez.
Jake Paul and Mike Tyson took part in the biggest boxing fight in modern history on November 15, setting a new viewership record since the days of boxing icon, Muhammad Ali.
‘The Problem Child’ went on to pick up the unanimous decision win and went on to call out Canelo Alvarez for a cruiserweight title fight.
Floyd Mayweather offers his prediction of potential fight between Jake Paul and Canelo Alvarez
Although a fight between Paul and Alvarez may seem like an unlikely prospect, the 28-year-old believes that he can tempt Canelo into a fight if he is offered the chance at a cruiserweight title.
Floyd Mayweather shared the ring with Jake’s brother, Logan Paul, back in 2021 and the two fought to a draw in their exhibition bout.
Despite the criticism Paul continues to receive, ‘Money’ Mayweather admitted that he actually likes ‘The Problem Child’ and what he does.
“If you go back, you’ve got to look on the internet and do your homework, I think (Jake) was doing a sitdown on a podcast one time and he was talking about, ‘I don’t want to do an exhibition against Floyd Mayweather’, he said ‘I’m only doing real fights’ and of course, I can’t get high up in weight.
“I’d fight him in a real fight in the weight that I’m at but Jake Paul, I mean as of right now for what he’s doing, it’s good for what he’s doing but once he fights a real actual fighter, it’s gonna be bad.
“One thing I do like about him, he’s selling it and he’s making good money and he’s entertaining, I like it,” Mayweather told TMZ Sports.
However, Mayweather has given his opinion on how a fight between Paul and Canelo would go down.
“He’d get f*cked up by Canelo. There’s no way (he’d win) he’d get demolished,” Mayweather continued.
Jake Paul offered title fights by several boxing champions
If ‘The Problem Child’ isn’t able to secure his desired fight against Canelo, the 28-year-old has been called out by several other boxing champions.
Undisputed light heavyweight champion, Artur Beterbiev called out the ‘Disruptor’ following his win over Tyson, asking if he is finally ready to fight a real boxing champion.
The undefeated Russian isn’t the only champion to have called out Paul, as heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois also told the 28-year-old that he is willing to defend his title against him in a super-fight.
